For over 37 years Fortunato S DiFranco has been practicing internal medicine in the same community he grew up in. He graduated from John Adams High school in 1972 and then attended St. John’s University as a premed student. After graduation his curiosity for travel and experiencing other cultures peaked, so he decided to move to Mexico to study Medicine at the Universidad del Noreste for two years. He then attended Ross University where his hard work and dedication to his studies came to fruition when he was awarded a Doctorate degree in 1982.
He came back home to Queens and did his residency at Mary Immaculate hospital in Jamaica. In 1986 he realized the community where he grew up in was in need of experienced, compassionate and dedicated doctors. That need inspired him to open up what is now a successful medical practice. Queensline Medical Center has been providing excellent comprehensive medical care to this community for over 37 years. He also provides medical services in the neighboring community of flushing, where he has attending privileges at Flushing Hospital. He is also a mentor at that hospital, where he lectures Medical students, educating and inspiring a new generation of doctors to follow in his footsteps. Dr. DiFranco also takes time from his busy schedule to provide medical care to the patients at Flushing house, a senior living facility where he provides care to older adults which enables them to live longer healthier lives.
Dr.DiFranco is not only passionate about medicine, but he is just as passionate about his wonderful family. He is happily married, a father of three children and one grandchild.
